Decimal Rules Ltd is a market leader in the manufacture and supply of Steel Cutting Rules,
Punches and many other engineering consumables for the Diecutting, Packaging, Printing and
Allied Trades.
Since 1920 the company has continually extended and improved its manufacturing facilities
to ensure customer satisfaction by supplying the highest quality products at the lowest
possible prices. There are two manufacturing sites at Market Harborough, England. The most
recent purpose built factory has increased the manufacturing area to 200 square metres and
has been instrumental in maintaining Decimal Rules position as a major supplier in the UK.
The company is recognised as a key international supplier in their field with over 40% of
sales coming from exports.

Standard Bowl
The bowl or cup punch is used on all types of solid and corrugated board. The contour of
the 'bowl' allows the wad to remain in the sheet. The punch can also be notched on the
edge to provide a tie to the cut out. The standard bowl or cup punch has a small outside
chamfer, but this type of punch is also supplied with no outside chamfer on a parallel
shank for certain jobs.

Can be supplied with a knurled base or pinned to stop any turning in the forme. This self
clearing punch is designed to allow the wad to pass out through the side of the body.

an extremely long life. Very popular for cutting solid and corrugated board, as well as

This punch is used mostly for the cutting of gasket materials, etc. It can be supplied
without or with a relief hole, which is bored from base of the punch most of the way up to

Punches > Boring Tools
These piloted cutters are designed to bore a hole exactly the same diameter as that of the
punch to be inserted, thus giving an absolutely tight fit. The use of a small diameter
pilot drill to give the ‘lead in’ hole for the boring tool also enables the hole
to be positioned much more accurately in the forme.

Thickness of brass impression strip: 0.50mm (0.0205”).
Standard width of impression strip: 12 points, but any width supplied on request. The

Mirracut Steel Cutting Rules
Have a machined instead of a ground edge. The ultra smooth satin-like finish provides two
important features. Firstly, the machining of the edge effectively increases the cutting
life. Secondly, the perfectly smooth bevel and absence of roughness and undulations
inherent in a ground edge does reduce the incidence of dust and swarf.

Edge and Jigsaw Rules
These wave edge rules, except large and extra large, have a flat body, waved on the edge
only. All rules are supplied tip hardened to give a long cutting life, similar to that of
an extra hard cutting rule. These jigsaw rules can be supplied in any pitch from 19mm
upwards. Usually made from 2 point Flexicut with a long bevel/centre bevel cutting edge,
